Captain | Workplace Interiors

Our client is seeking an experienced Job Captain to join a collaborative and design-focused architecture and interiors practice specializing in workplace environments. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys coordinating complex projects, developing construction documentation, and working closely with project teams to ensure successful project delivery from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate construction documentation throughout all project phases, from schematic design through construction administration.
• Conduct site surveys, code analysis, accessibility reviews, and existing conditions documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure project objectives, budgets, and schedules are met.
• Develop technical details, specifications, and documentation for workplace interior and renovation projects.
• Review and coordinate consultant drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and permit responses.
• Participate in site visits, construction meetings, and field coordination activities.
• Support quality assurance reviews, code compliance, constructability, and project documentation standards.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the successful execution of project deliverables.

Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience in workplace interiors, architecture, or commercial interior projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience producing and coordinating construction documents and technical detailing.
• Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, construction methods, and project coordination.
• Experience with construction administration processes, including RFIs, submittals, and site observation.
• Familiarity with project management and construction administration platforms such as Procore is preferred.
• Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges proactively.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
• Familiarity with emerging AI tools for design and documentation is a plus.
• Professional licensure or certification preferred but not required.
