Position Summary
Senior Designer at Gensler’s San Francisco office. You will collaborate with Design Directors and project teams to support the development and delivery of interior design projects from concept through construction administration.
As part of a collaborative, mentorship‑driven culture, you will translate design intent into accurate 2D and 3D drawings, models, and visualizations, assist with coordination, research, and resolve design or technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle. You will work across a range of practice areas, including workplace, sciences, aviation, transportation, education, hospitality, retail, and technology.
Responsibilities- Participate in all project phases, including conceptual design, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
- Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
- Utilize hand‑rendering techniques to communicate design concepts.
- Work synergistically with other design and professional staff.
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture.
- 10+ years of related project experience at a commercial interior design or architecture firm.
- Proficiency in Revit (required).
- Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software such as CAD, Enscape, 3ds Max, Sketch Up, Rhino, and V‑Ray (plus).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.
- Enrollment in an IDP program (NCARB or NCIDQ) and in‑process state licensure (plus).
- Ability to work in person in the office 4–5 days a week.
- Strong verbal communication skills and detail orientation.
- Visual communication style with ability to think and visualize in three dimensions.
- Base salary estimated at $107,000 to $140,000, plus bonuses and benefits, contingent on relevant experience.
