As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will bring conceptual rigor and deep investigation to complex architectural challenges. Blending creativity with technical expertise, you'll translate ambitious visions into functionally beautiful, high-performing spaces. You will collaborate with studio leadership to drive innovation on the most exciting projects in the sports and live events industry. WhatYou Will Do
- Convey clear project narratives and conceptual ideas to internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and project leaders to develop thoughtful, well-resolved design solutions
- Contribute to projects across all phases, from early concepts and design studies through construction documentation and administration
- Prepare, develop, and edit drawings, Revit models, architectural details, and project deliverables
- Produce diagrams, renderings, presentations, and visual materials that clearly communicate design ideas
- Assist in translating design concepts into technically rigorous and buildable solutions
- Participate in programming, space planning, research, material studies, design reviews, and consultant coordination
- Take initiative and execute tasks proactively in response to direction from project leadership
- Engage in project discussions and team critiques with creativity and a willingness to learn
- Maintain high standards of design quality, technical execution, and attention to detail across all project work
- Foster a collaborative studio culture that values mentorship, design excellence, and continuous learning
- Accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
- 0-5 years of experience in a professional architecture or design practice
- A portfolio demonstrating design sensibilities, technical curiosity, and excellent visual communication skills
- Proven ability to explore, develop, and present design ideas through drawing, modeling, and visualization
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Rhino, and Revit with hands‑on experience contributing to project models and drawing sets
- Proficiency with Enscape, Grasshopper, and AI design workflows is a plus
- Working understanding of building systems, construction methods, detailing, codes, accessibility standards, and project delivery
- Highly organized, collaborative, and adaptable across multiple project types and phases in a fast‑paced environment
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn from both design and technical challenges
- Experience working on higher education, cultural, science, workplace, mixed‑use, adaptive reuse, or other mission‑driven projects
- Exposure to multiple phases of project delivery, from concept design through construction documentation
- Exposure to collaboration across disciplines, including architects, interior designers, consultants, and project teams
- Interest in sustainable design, resilience, and high‑performance buildings. LEED or other sustainability credential is a plus
- Progress toward architectural licensure
- Interest and experience in using research, precedent studies, material investigations, and other forms of design inquiry to inform design decisions
- Interest in the relationship between design excellence, technical craft, and project execution
- Experience in sports and entertainment architecture is a plus
