Job SummaryThe UCSF Urgent Care Physician will provide direct patient care to patients of all ages in the newly remodeled UCSF acute care clinic on Parnassus, and the newly constructed Bayfront Urgent Care, which opened in August 2024. 36 hours of direct patient care per week is expected in a full‑time appointment at one or a combination of the two urgent care sites, and will include some evenings, weekends and holidays.
Although the majority of patient encounters will be in‑person, competency with video tele‑health encounters is required. All shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays, will be equitably divided among the Urgent Care clinicians.
In addition to providing direct clinical care
, the Urgent Care Physician may provide input regarding protocols for efficient patient triage, and clinic flow at both locations. The Urgent Care Physician will supervise the clinical care of advanced practice providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants) and provide consultation when needed. They will work collegially with clinic nurses and administrative staff at both locations.
UCSF may increase the number urgent care clinics on campus, and the UCSF Urgent Care Physician is expected to participate in the implementation of the expanded services.
