Job Summary:
The Department of Medicine (DOM) Education Office is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fellowship Program Manager & Lead Trainer. This newly created position provides expert guidance on the educational administration of both ACGME and non-ACGME fellowship programs. The incumbent will report to the DOM Administrative Director of Education and lead a team of three fellowship administrators who support fellowships across divisions within DOM.
- Provide leadership, onboarding, training, mentoring, and motivation to DOM fellowship program administrators.
- Directly supervise 3 fellowship administrators.
- Collaborate with DOM Education leadership to develop and implement guidelines, streamline processes, and establish internal controls to ensure high standards and cross-coverage mechanisms.
- Maintain a small portfolio of ACGME and/or non-ACGME fellowship programs.
- May provide short-term back-up support to fellowship programs in the absence of a fellowship administrator.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and five or more years of relevant experience, including three or more years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent training.
- Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies; ability to solve problems through critical thinking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior supervisory, managerial or lead experience overseeing a team.
- Prior experience as an administrator in graduate medical education.
- Demonstrated leadership in training and guiding employees on educational techniques; motivates and inspires staff to improve education services.
- Ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex environment; organize staff and unit operations efficiently.
- Knowledge of health professions education, administrative analysis, and operations research; knowledge of program requirements and curriculum.
- Knowledge of department, organization, HR and university policies; awareness of relevant laws and regulations including accrediting bodies and licensing requirements.
- Effective communication with peers, learners, faculty, and education program coordinators/managers.
- Master's degree in related area (preferred).
- TAGME Certification.
The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity within this position classification salary range for this position is $98,100 - $164,200 (Annual Rate).
