, we guide students through a rigorous curriculum focused on primary research and paper creation in CRISPR. Students engage in wet lab mentorship to gain hands‑on experience in research methodologies and academic writing.
We are seeking a dedicated candidate with prior experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or Research Assistant (RA) to join us as a Residential Student Supervisor. In this role, you will act as the primary bridge between the academic program and the student experience. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day well‑being, safeguarding, and logistical supervision of our cohort.
While this is a residential supervision role, we specifically seek candidates with an academic research background who have experience interacting with students and can provide support as they navigate high‑level research for the first time.
Dates: Cohort A: 5th‑17th July and Cohort B: 19th July

Please note:
This is a contractual role.
- Residential Supervision: Reside on‑site (hotel) to ensure student safety, including conducting night rounds to monitor noise and ensuring all students are in their rooms by the curfew.
- Well‑being Monitoring: Monitor student health and well‑being, reporting any concerns (such as students skipping meals or signs of illness) to the Program Lead immediately.
- Emergency Response: Act as the first point of contact during nights and weekends; be prepared to handle emergencies, including accompanying students to clinics/hospitals if necessary.
- Lab Commute: Supervise the daily internal commute, accompanying students from the hotel to the laboratory facilities and back, ensuring the group stays together and arrives on time.
- Attendance: Take roll calls at the start of every session/transport movement. Immediately investigate and report any unauthorized absences.
- Meal Supervision: Support the Program Lead in arranging meals for the students, engaging with them socially and ensuring they are eating regularly.
- Communications: Manage a Whats App group for your assigned student cohort to disseminate schedule changes/announcements and facilitate quick communication.
- Weekend Leadership: Take primary responsibility for leading and supervising weekend excursions and cultural trips.

Activities:
Plan and run a variety of social activities on designated evenings to foster team building and relaxation. - Move‑In/Move‑Out: Assist with student arrivals, check‑ins, and departures, ensuring students are settled into their rooms and have necessary contact information.
- Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s program in Sciences/STEM (F‑1 and J‑1 holders not eligible)
- Location: Anywhere in the US, New York residents preferred
- Experience:
- Prior experience as a Research Assistant (RA) or Teaching Assistant (TA).
- Demonstrated experience working with high school/undergraduate students
- Availability: Must be available to live on‑site for the full duration of the program i.e 5th‑17th July and 19th July - 1st August including weekends.
- Compliance: Must pass a mandatory background check for working with minors.
- Training: Willingness to complete mandatory training (including CPR, Youth Mental Health, and Safeguarding) prior to the program start.

- Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive situations/emergencies.
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
We value the expertise and time you bring to our program. The package for this role includes:
Total Monetary Stipend- $5000 for a total duration of Cohort A and B
- Paid as taxable compensation
- Prorated in the event of late arrival or early departure
- Private single‑room accommodation for the full duration of the program
- Lodging will be in the same residence or hotel as students and Indigo Research staff
- Daily breakfast and lunch provided throughout the program
- Daily lab or academic site commutes and Program‑related weekend excursions.
- All entry fees, tickets, and activity costs for scheduled excursions, cultural outings, and social events are fully covered.
