rate is set in accordance with the city college of san francisco faculty salary schedule for hourly assignments. Currently the rate upon entry is from $90.90 to $160.48 per hour depending upon placement. Temporary, part-time pool(9 hours or less per week for credit program)(15 hours or less per week for noncredit program) this will be a part-time hiring pool to be in effect for a one-year period.ec

the lvn department is looking to hire lvn faculty that can help instruct and demonstrate competency and sensitivity working with diverse students and/or clients, with the commitment to maintain equity, diversity, and inclusion among all students of diverse backgrounds.

job duties
  • conduct clinical and/or classroom instruction either in the licensed vocational nursing and/or certified nursing assistant programs in accordance with credit course outlines approved by the ccsf board of trustees.
  • maintain expertise in the current discipline and update knowledge and teaching methods according to discipline-specific technologies, and bvnpt and/or cdph requirements.
  • maintain and submit necessary attendance and other scholastic records in a timely manner.
  • assist the students to achieve the course objectives, provide tutorial assistance as needed, track the students' learning outcomes, evaluate their progress, and work with the regular counseling staff or faculty in the individual advisement of students.
  • work collaboratively with other faculty members in the curriculum in curriculum development and implementation.
  • adhere to the policies, rules, and regulations established by the vocational nursing department, the board of trustees of the san francisco community college district, the california community colleges, the board of vocational nurses, and psychiatric technicians, and/or california department of public health.
  • may need to use computer-assisted instruction such as canvas, and the assignment may require evening and weekend instructions.
  • attend meetings and training as deemed necessary to update the team about the clinical group and or theory class, and to keep abreast with the current state board regulation.
  • attend various departmental and campus-wide activities and events as required, plan and complete approved professional development flex training each semester.
  • supports and engages in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
  • participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.
  • perform other academic-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • minimum qualifications

    for lvn the following qualifications must be met:

  • demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; or the equivalent;
  • or
  • earned associate degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; or the equivalent;
  • complete a course in principles of teaching adult learners that could be taken at any bvnpt accredited institution. Example: glendale career college ()
  • possess a current valid california registered nurse license.
  • possess a current cpr certification.
