Under general direction, the 9706 Employment & Training Specialist V performs complex and highly responsible professional and technical vocational work in the areas of monitoring, evaluation, planning, program operations, and special projects. The incumbent may perform advanced technical work across multiple phases of vocational training and job development, serving as a key resource and subject matter expert. This position also directs and supervises subordinate staff engaged in various aspects of vocational programming and service delivery.
EssentialDuties
According to Civil Service Commission Rule 109, the duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this job class and are not intended to be an inclusive list.

Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
:
Four (4) years of experience providing direct services to clients in areas of workforce development such as job or business development, career counseling, recruitment and training, job search training, workshop instruction and facilitation, or a closely related field.
Some positions require possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
SubstitutionAdditional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one (1) year.
