Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity Technology
DescriptionThe School of Computing at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks one full-time 9‑month tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in the area of Cybersecurity Technology, starting August 11, 2026. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity (salary details available at (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
Responsibilities- Design and teach Cybersecurity Technology courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Engage in teaching, research, and service in alignment with the school’s mission.
- Direct graduate student research in Cybersecurity related areas.
- Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. ABD applicants will be considered if all requirements for the Ph.D. will be completed by August 11, 2026. If all requirements are not completed by that date, a term, non‑tenure track appointment at a reduced rate of pay may be offered in accordance with university policy ().
- Teaching competency for Cybersecurity Technology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Evidence of high‑quality ongoing and future research.
- Support and positively contribute to SIU’s mission of student success and retention.
- Demonstrated success in designing and teaching Cybersecurity courses in academia or industry.
