Vice Provost - Academic Affairs

Full Time

This is an 18 month Time Limited position from date of hire.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Academic Processing Supervisor, the Academic Processing Analyst has the primary responsibility to organize, analyze, validate, and enter all payroll data transactions into the unified payroll database (UCPath) and other local systems. Understands and applies human resources policies, rules, and the UCPath system data entry procedures. The Academic Processing Analyst critically evaluates the information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts and research inconsistencies in information.

Interacts on a regular basis with Academic Personnel Generalists and Managers. The Academic Processing Analyst ensures accurate and timely data entry to meet various systems deadlines.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification  positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $64,900 - $97,400 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Office of the Vice Provost–Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Faculty Development and Advancement facilitates the recruitment, development, mentoring, and retention of the highest-caliber diverse faculty. The Office provides leadership, training, and guidance in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to academic personnel. The Office is committed to improving the work life and academic environment for faculty to support innovative and collaborative approaches for education, research and healthcare  of October 2018, there were approximately 3400 faculty, 900 non-faculty academics, and 3000 volunteer clinical professors appointed at UCSF.

Required Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of many payroll processes, policies, and procedures; knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs. Working knowledge of organizational processes, procedures, and understands organizational rules and regulations. Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills; verbal, written and active listening communication skills. Uses interpersonal skills and service orientation skills in interactions with customers and colleagues. Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Problem solving, problem identification and reasoning skills.

    Intermediate mathematical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 Years data entry experience
  • Working knowledge of organizational processes, procedures, and understands organizational rules and regulations
  • Healthcare or hospital experience and knowledge of collective bargaining systems
