Compensation is determined in accordance with the City College of San Francisco Faculty Salary Schedule for Pay‑by‑workload assignments. The workload compensation upon entry currently ranges from $2,163.36 to $3,302.80 per workload unit, depending upon placement.

Position Description

The Business Department seeks qualified candidates for a Noncredit Business Instructor (Part‑time Pool) to support the development and delivery of noncredit programs aligned with state adult education priorities focused on workforce preparation, short‑term Career Technical Education (CTE), and digital literacy. This position is designed to support adult learners seeking rapid skill development for employment, re‑employment, or transition to credit pathways.

The instructor will teach noncredit business and computer skills courses that address documented community needs, including basic computer skills, keyboarding, Microsoft Office applications, digital literacy, and business communication, with an emphasis on equitable access, student persistence, and workforce outcomes.

Job Duties
  • Instruction & Student Support
    • Teach hybrid, online and/or multiple CCSF instructional sites in one or more noncredit business and computer skills courses aligned with workforce preparation and digital literacy priorities, including but not limited to:
    • Basic Computer Skills for Business
    • Keyboarding for Computers
    • Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
    • Business Writing and Digital Communication
    • Digital literacy and workplace technology fundamentals
  • Assessment & Recordkeeping
    • Monitor and document student attendance, participation, and progress in accordance with noncredit and state‑required reporting requirements.
    • Maintain required records related to student learning, outcomes, and program participation.
  • Program & Curriculum Development
    • Collaborate with department faculty and administrators to develop, refine, and implement noncredit curriculum aligned with:
    • Workforce preparation, short‑term CTE, and basic skills priorities.
    • Regional labor market needs.
    • Pathways to credit programs and employment.
    • Participate in the design and implementation of pilot programs and cohort models.
  • Equity, Access, and Student Success
    • Apply culturally responsive, inclusive, and equity-minded teaching practices.
    • Address barriers to participation such as digital literacy gaps and access to technology.
    • Support student retention, completion, and transitions to employment or further education.
  • Departmental Engagement
    • Participate, as assigned, in department meetings, professional development, program planning, and coordination with campus and community partners.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the department chair.
  • Supports and engages in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti‑racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
  • Participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti‑racism to center pedagogy.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities working with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (Required).
  • Earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR EQUIVALENT; OR Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT; OR Hold a fully‑satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Computer and Related Technologies or Computer Science (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
