St. Brendan Catholic School, located in San Francisco, California, is a vibrant community parish school serving students in kindergarten through eighth grades. We are a community committed to providing the highest quality Catholic education rooted in faith, academic excellence, and service to others, through which students develop the skills needed to navigate the 21st century. We seek a temporary 80% part-time 6th – 8th Grade Math Teacher to join our supportive faculty from August 10 – November 2026.

The ideal candidate will have a love of mathematics and the knowledge to support students in developing critical thinking, problem‑solving skills, vocabulary, and confidence in their mathematical abilities. This temporary teacher will lesson plan, foster a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that reflects the mission and values of Catholic education.

• Support and uphold the mission of St. Brendan School
• Plan and deliver engaging math instruction aligned with Archdiocesan and state standards
• Differentiate instruction where necessary to meet the diverse needs of middle schoolers
• Assess, grade, and document student progress
• Effectively engage with parents when needed
• Create a positive, structured classroom environment conducive to learning
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies

• Bachelor’s Degree required (BA/BS)
• Valid California Teaching Credential (or willingness to obtain within five years)
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Willingness to support Catholic values and traditions

• Teaching experience at the middle school level
• Experience teaching mathematics in grades 6–8
• Experience in a Catholic school setting
• Ability to effectively integrate technology into instruction

Salary: 30 hours per week or 80% per the San Francisco Archdiocesan Salary Scale $62,194‑138,967 (base range; advanced education & certifications not included).
