Salary Range: $69,312-$75,061/annually

Length of Appointment:  School Year

Calendar: Full Time / Full Year

SFUSD Out-of-School Time Program

SFUSD’s OST Program offers engaging after-school, summer, and school break programming for TK through 5th grade students. OST teachers support academic enrichment, social-emotional development, and physical well‑being by leading structured, developmentally appropriate activities in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities , Role Details

The duties below are representative of the role and are not exhaustive:

  • Facilitate daily academic, enrichment, and recreational activities in a classroom setting with indoor and outdoor components
  • Provide safe, high-quality, and culturally responsive supervision of students during program hours
  • Support students’ social-emotional development, collaboration, and positive behavior using non-punitive strategies
  • Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with school-day teachers and OST team members to ensure alignment and continuity of programming
  • Build positive relationships with students and families and support ongoing engagement
  • Supervise students during classroom, outdoor activities, transitions, and field trips
  • Prepare materials, manage supplies, and maintain accurate attendance and student records
  • Complete required documentation and paperwork, including DRDP School-Age assessments and other program documentation, in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support shared spaces by ensuring they are clean, organized, and used respectfully
  • Provide guidance and direction to program assistants as needed
  • Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures, including basic first aid
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings
  • Perform basic clerical and administrative tasks, including ordering supplies and maintaining records
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • CTC Child Development Teacher Permit or higher
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Cantonese or Spanish)
  • CTC Site Supervisor Permit
  • AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education

SFUSD offers a competitive salary of $69,312-$75,061/annually commensurate with experience in a similar position. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan including dental and vision plans, a defined benefit pension plan, disability, life insurance, flexible spending account options, and vacation time. We also offer an inclusive and equity-centered environment where staff are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work. We credit years of verified service if you were an educator in another school district.

We offer fully subsidized health benefits and pension contributions up to 19.1% of base pay. Additional stipends and experience as an administrator may increase your salary further.
