Instructional Coaching
  • Support classroom teachers to set instructional goals and implement comprehensive Tier 1 instruction
  • Support the continued implementation of math and language arts curricula
  • Coach teachers towards improved student outcomes through formal coaching cycles
  • Provide instructional guidance to classroom teachers, including co-planning and co-teaching lessons and units and modeling lessons
  • Maintain coaching logs to monitor individual and group progress of implementation initiatives
Professional Development
  • Facilitate the once monthly Aligned PD with staff (elementary)
  • Design and implement professional learning experiences among teachers to employ a range of resources: analysis of lessons, tasks, videos, student work, data, peer observation, and common readings such as current research from the broader community
  • Support the integration of educational technology to support literacy and math outcomes
  • Cultivate strong and cohesive professional learning communities to develop a culture of collaboration and adult learning
Teacher Collaboration
  • Elementary School Instructional Coaches:
    Participate in Instructional Leadership teams and facilitate grade level teams in the implementation of new instructional materials and Common Core State Standards.
  • Middle School Instructional Coaches:
    Co-lead Instructional Leadership teams (with site administrators) and co-facilitate department teams (with department leads).
  • Engage teachers in long and short term planning, reflect on evidence of student learning and support teachers in their practices
  • Facilitate teacher work groups/common planning time or grade level team/department meetings and incorporate looking at student work or data in order to plan for and/or adjust instruction
Systematic Data-Use to Inform Instruction
  • Support teachers/teams in administering, analyzing and using assessment data to inform decisions in planning instruction to meet students' diverse needs and progress monitoring results.
