Position Overview We seek a creative and dynamic educator with solid experience in teaching Judaic Studies in an engaging and comprehensive manner. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, depth of knowledge, and a student-centered approach to the classroom, fostering a love for Jewishlearning, while building strong connections with students and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach Judaic Studies (Torah, Jewish holidays, Israel, values, and traditions) in an engaging and meaningful way.
Plan and teach a challenging and developmentally appropriate course of study, with an emphasis on differentiating instruction and using assessments effectively.
Create an inclusive classroom environment through regular class meetings, supportiveinteractions with students, and clear expectations for community behavior.
Engage students in experiential learning, encouraging deep investigation of topics as partof an emergent curriculum.
Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported,challenged, and inspired to explore their Jewish identity.
Guide students in tefillah (prayer) and holiday celebrations, helping them build a personalconnection to Jewish practice.
Collaborate with other lower school teachers and educators to develop curriculum, and implement special projects.
Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences,written reports, and newsletters.
Support and follow the school policies and a positive and contributing member of the professional community.
Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, teaching credential or Masters degree in Judaic Studies, Education ora related field.
Minimum of two years teaching at the elementary school level
Eligible to work in the U.S.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong leadership and facilitative skills.
Fluency or proficiency in Hebrew a plus Passion for creating a joyful and intellectually rich learning environment.
