Full-Time /  School-Year Essential Duties

The Early Education Instructional Coach plays a critical role in supporting the professional growth and development of early childhood educators within the department. The primary focus is on improving teaching practices, enhancing instructional quality, and ultimately promoting positive outcomes for young children. The instructional coach collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to create a supportive learning environment that fosters continuous improvement and excellence in early childhood education.

Under the supervision of the EED Program Administrator, this position ensures the development of a plan that supports the implementation of EED classroom programs and builds the capacity of classroom teachers by providing training and support in the field of early education. The EED TSA will provide instructional coaching aligned with the district and department priorities to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.

Instructional Coaches model effective teaching practices, engage in observation cycles, co-plan, and co-teach, and provide access to research‑based strategies and technology tools.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience working as an early childhood educator or in a similar instructional coaching role.
  • Capacity to design and implement professional learning experiences among teachers of mathematics to employ a range of resources: lessons analysis, tasks, videos, student work, data, peer observation, and current research in mathematics education.
  • Deep understanding of child development principles, best practices in early childhood education, and evidence‑based instructional strategies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, provide feedback, and support teachers in implementing effective instructional practices.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in early childhood education settings.
  • Continuous learner with a growth mindset and a passion for supporting the professional growth and development of educators.
Education and Experience
  • Child Development Teaching Permit or higher
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
