The curriculum is already designed. The AI already handles instruction. Your role is to help a child believe in possibilities they couldn't see before.
At Alpha, academic work is completed in just two hours daily through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their time to transformational work: developing confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges.
You won't stand at the front of a room delivering lessons. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, acknowledge their progress, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.
You’ll oversee one K-3 cohort band- either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time goes to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half involves coaching students both individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward challenging weekly objectives. Every moment counts.
Students should emerge from your workshops with greater capability and leave coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they previously imagined.
This position isn't designed for someone seeking to deliver curriculum or oversee a traditional classroom. It's suited for someone who enjoys motivating young learners, operates well with measurable results, and believes the right mentor can alter a child's path. If you've energized kids as a teacher, coach, camp counselor, youth leader, or performer, a distinctly different kind of learning environment awaits you here.
This is a full-time, on-site position at one of Alpha's campuses. We recruit nationally, so job boards may list this opportunity in nearby cities that do not host a campus.
Current openings are available in La Jolla (San Diego), Orange County (Lake Forest), Los Angeles (South Bay, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu), San Francisco Bay Area (San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont), Greenwich, CT, Boca Raton, Miami, Miami Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Chicago, Boston, New York City, and Kirkland (Seattle area).
If you're interested in another Alpha campus, apply anyway and tell us your preferred location—we’ll consider you for the appropriate opening.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that guide K-3 students toward mastery of communication, focus, feedback, and other foundational skills through active engagement rather than passive listening.
- Provide one-on-one and small group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation systems, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child stays aligned with ambitious weekly learning objectives.
- Evaluate life-skill mastery using Alpha's Test2
Pass framework, guiding students until they show genuine understanding—not merely attendance. - Adjust your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, movement, and narratives for younger children or increased independence and responsibility for older students.
- Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push past what they believed were their limits.
- Presenting academic lessons at a whiteboard. Students complete academics through adaptive software.
- Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
- Observing students work quietly on computers. Your role centers on active coaching, motivation, and meaningful interaction.
- Reducing expectations when students face difficulties. Success emerges from helping students meet the goal, not adjusting the goal downward.
- Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent communication.
Key Responsibilities
