Primary Responsibilities:

Provide private, on-campus music lessons for elementary and middle school students at The Hamlin School.

Part-time/Non-exempt

Work Schedule:

Looking for 2-5 days/week commitment. Instructors teach after school from 3:30-6:00pm Monday-Thursday and/or 2:30-6:00pm Fridays beginning in early September for the  school year.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

Position Overview:

The Hamlin School is seeking experienced and enthusiastic music instructors for our after school Music Academy. This vibrant program serves over 100 students in grades 1-8, offering one-on-one lessons in piano, guitar, violin, voice, drums, and more. Lessons are held on campus and are scheduled in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute blocks. The School handles all student registration and billing logistics.

Music Academy instructors play an important role in nurturing students’ musical growth, self-confidence, and creativity. Instructors are expected to foster a supportive learning environment that emphasizes joy, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Job Qualifications:

Prior experience with private music instruction for elementary and middle school students

Passion for music education and ability to build rapport with individual students

Strong punctuality, time management and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor's degree in music or a related field (preferred)

Work authorization requirements:

• Clear the Department of Justice background screening (Livescan)
• Authorized to work in the United States (I-9)
• Provide health (TB) clearance (update every 4 years)
