Your structured-literacy credentials—Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction—have opened doors to every K-3 reading position you've pursued. In most cases, they've also marked the upper limit: you delivered someone else's curriculum and tracked results. Here, those credentials mark the entry point. If that difference resonates with you, continue reading.

Alpha has dismantled conventional instruction models. Students progress through academic content independently using AI-adaptive applications. No lectures, no textbooks, no district pacing calendars. Your position represents the one area where human expertise cannot be replaced. You create 20-minute small-group workshops using live app data; sessions are intentionally brief because targeted instruction outperforms duration. You also facilitate motivation sessions that guide 100% of students toward weekly app targets through Alpha's motivational framework (campus currency, leaderboards, developmentally appropriate gamification).

You catch a miscue during a session, identify the phonemic deficit, and reconfigure the next day's workshop before you leave. That is the expectation.

Families enrolling at these campuses have selected Alpha for measurable outcomes, not simply enrollment. Parents receive weekly data on their child's literacy development and they form opinions. You will field specific questions about individual student advancement, and vague reassurances will not suffice. You will reference the running record, identify the phonemic weakness, and clarify your instructional response. This level of accountability should energize you, not exhaust you.

Your initial months focus on proving your effectiveness. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably impactful; student satisfaction and "love your Guide" survey results (target 90%+) provide direct measurement. Once you establish that, your influence expands beyond your classroom: successful strategies with your students inform practices adopted across other Alpha campuses, and your diagnostic precision influences reading instruction as Alpha scales.

Your contributions extend well beyond your immediate environment.

Before we extend an offer, you will record a brief video presenting an engaging story for young children, and you will spend an entire day on campus working directly with K-3 students. Low energy with children will disqualify you, regardless of credential strength. This is intentional.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Creating small-group K-3 literacy workshops driven by live adaptive-app data, rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent)
  • Facilitating daily motivation sessions that ensure 100% of your students reach their weekly app targets through Alpha's motivational system (campus currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
  • Analyzing AI-generated performance metrics (fluency trajectories, decoding precision, comprehension indicators) to modify instruction mid-day, not only during planning periods
  • Conducting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding evaluations to generate gains reflected in weekly campus data reviews
  • Serving as the engaging, energetic adult your K-3 students are excited to see daily
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Implementing a published literacy curriculum, scripted lesson plan, or district scope-and-sequence; you create lessons directly from student data
  • Delivering whole-class lectures; all instruction occurs in small, targeted groups while students complete core academic subjects through adaptive apps
  • Serving as a reading consultant, instructional coach, or district-level specialist; you work in the classroom with students every day
  • Managing a conventional classroom schedule: subject-by-subject instruction, homework correction, test preparation. Your timetable consists of workshops, motivation sessions, and data-informed small groups
  • Drafting IEPs, 504 plans, or formal diagnostic evaluations; student progress is captured in app data and your running records, not special-education…
