Geology Instructor - (Temporary, Part-Time Pool)

The Earth Sciences department at City College of San Francisco is currently seeking to hire part-time Geology faculty to provide instruction in a broad number of areas. We primarily serve students seeking transfer degrees. Instructors can expect to work with students at various learning levels in a collaborative department environment and work on furthering the goals of the college.

Job duties include teaching one or more of the following college-level courses in the Earth Sciences Department:
Climate Change, Environmental Geology, Environmental Geology Lab, Historical Geology, Historical Geology Lab, Physical Geology, Physical Geology Lab, Oceanography, Oceanography Lab; teaching hybrid, online and/or multiple CCSF instructional sites; performing duties associated with instruction and assessing student progress which include, but are not limited to, grading, required recordkeeping, evaluating and reporting student learning outcomes, etc.; participating in departmental functions, such as staff meetings, curriculum development, and assessment of student learning outcomes;

supporting and engaging in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps; participating in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy; and performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum qualifications include demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds; earned Master's Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Meteorology, Oceanography or Paleontology, from an accredited institution; OR THE EQUIVALENT; OR Bachelor's in Geology from an accredited institution AND Master's in Geography, Physics, or Geochemistry from an accredited institution;

OR THE EQUIVALENT.
