The Preschool Teacher at Donum Dei Classical Academy provides a nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and spiritual growth of young children. This role requires a love for learning, a passion for classical Christian education, and the ability to create a structured yet joyful classroom atmosphere.

Ideal Candidate

A gentle, patient caregiver who supports early learners in a developmentally appropriate, Christ-centered classroom. They assist lead teachers in fostering play, exploration, and the beginnings of academic readiness.

Education

Bachelor’s degree
12 core semester units in early childhood education/development

Experience

6 months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child program

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Care & Support Foster a warm, Christ-centered classroom atmosphere where young children feel safe, known, and valued as image-bearers of God.
  • Support children’s daily care needs, including assisting with bathroom routines, diapering as needed, handwashing, and transitions throughout the day.
  • Prepare, serve, and clean up snacks and lunch (depending on schedule), encouraging good manners, gratitude, and age-appropriate independence.
  • Assist children and supervise nap or rest time, creating a calm, consistent, and peaceful environment that supports healthy rhythms.
  • Actively observe children’s behavior, social interactions, and developmental milestones, communicating observations and concerns promptly to the Preschool Director/Lead Teacher.
  • Provide gentle guidance and redirection to support emotional regulation, peer relationships, and positive behavior.
  • Instructional & Classroom Support Assist the lead teacher and reinforce key learning objectives by engaging children in interactive play, storytelling, songs, and creative projects that build curiosity and joy in learning.
