Job Title: Radiography Orientation Instructor

Location(s): San Francisco, CA

Position Summary
We are seeking a Radiography Orientation Instructor to plan and deliver orientation for newly admitted students entering an 18-month entry-level radiography program. This role prepares students for success in online coursework, hands-on laboratory training, and clinical rotations by establishing clear expectations around professionalism, safety, communication, and program requirements.

Working under the direction of the Program Director and in coordination with the Clinical Coordinator, the instructor will provide a consistent and well-organized orientation experience for each incoming cohort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver student orientation sessions covering program structure, policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Introduce students to professional standards, patient safety, radiation safety, and clinical readiness.
  • Prepare students for the transition to online learning, laboratory instruction, and supervised clinical education.
  • Explain applicable supervision, competency, and compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate engaging presentations, discussions, activities, and student Q&A sessions.
  • Promote professionalism, accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and effective communication.
  • Identify and address common transition challenges faced by newly admitted allied-health students.
  • Coordinate orientation activities with program faculty and clinical leadership.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, completion, and orientation documentation.
  • Use learning-management systems, student-information platforms, and standard office applications.
  • Provide appropriate guidance and support while maintaining program standards and boundaries.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of radiography education, professional expectations, and student transition needs.
  • Working knowledge of introductory radiation-safety and patient-safety principles.
  • Familiarity with radiography program supervision policies and accreditation/compliance requirements.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and deliver structured orientation content to a student cohort.
  • Strong listening, advising, and student-support skills.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative, and professional learning environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and learning-management/student-information systems.

Education

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field, or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Radiography education or clinical experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with JRCERT and/or ARRT standards and expectations is desirable.

Work Environment

  • Part-time: 20–25 hours per week.
  • Works collaboratively with the Program Director, Clinical Coordinator, faculty, and incoming student cohorts.
