About the Role

As a Bright Roots Yoga Kids Instructor, you will travel to partner locations — elementary schools, daycares, YMCA branches, city parks and rec programs, and community centers — and deliver engaging, curriculum-based yoga classes for children ages 5 to 12. You’ll follow our structured Bright Roots curriculum while adapting your delivery to the energy and needs of each group. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, has some background in childcare or kids programming, and wants to share the gift of yoga with the next generation.

What You'll Do

• Travel independently to partner schools, daycares, and parks & rec facilities for each scheduled class
• Deliver fun, age-appropriate yoga classes for children ages 5–9 and 10–12 using animal poses, breathwork, and mindfulness activities
• Arrive 15 minutes before each class to set up the space, introduce yourself to facility staff, and welcome students
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where every child feels seen and supported
• Manage classroom behavior with warmth and confidence — keeping kids engaged, focused, and having fun
• Represent Bright Roots Yoga professionally with school administrators, daycare directors, parks & rec staff, and parents

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Some experience working with children in any capacity — childcare, tutoring, after-school programs, camp counseling, teaching, babysitting, or similar
• Genuine love for working with kids and a natural ability to connect with them at their level
• Reliable, punctual, and professional — you show up on time and follow through on commitments
• Comfortable traveling independently to multiple locations across the Bay Area
• Strong classroom presence — able to hold the attention of a group of 5–12-year-olds with energy and patience
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Cleared background check (Live Scan fingerprinting required before first class )
• TB testing(As and when required by partner sites)

Preferred :

• Kids yoga certification or training (e.g. Radiant Child, Rainbow Kids Yoga, Yoga Ed, or similar)
• RYT-200 or higher yoga certification from a Yoga Alliance accredited school
• Experience teaching physical education, dance, movement, or mindfulness to children
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before starting )
• Familiarity with school environments, daycare settings, or parks & rec programs
