Job Description & How to Apply Below

The curriculum is already developed. The AI already handles instruction. Your role is to help a child believe in capabilities they previously doubted.

Alpha students finish their academic coursework in two hours daily through adaptive learning systems. This structure allows Guides to concentrate on transformative work: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficulty. You won't be positioned at the front of a classroom delivering prepared lessons. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, acknowledge achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.

You'll oversee one K-3 cohort band—Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time goes to facilitating dynamic, hour-long workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half involves individual and small-group coaching, leveraging learning analytics to guide every child toward ambitious weekly targets. Each interaction carries weight. Students should exit your workshops with expanded capabilities and leave coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they previously imagined.

This position isn't suited for someone seeking to deliver prepared curriculum or oversee a traditional classroom. It's designed for someone who enjoys motivating young learners, values measurable progress, and believes an effective coach can alter a child's path. If you've inspired children as an educator, coach, camp counselor, youth mentor, or performer, you'll discover an unconventional classroom environment here.

This is a full-time, on‑site position at an Alpha campus. We conduct nationwide recruitment, so job postings may appear in nearby cities without campus locations.

Current positions are open in Palo Alto, Los Angeles (South Bay), Malibu, Orange County (Lake Forest), San Francisco, and Santa Monica, CA;
Greenwich, CT;
Boca Raton and Miami, FL;
Chicago, IL;
Boston, MA;
New York City, NY; and Seattle (Kirkland), WA.

If your preferred Alpha campus differs, submit your application regardless and indicate your location preference—we'll evaluate you for the relevant opening.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitate engaging life‑skills workshops that guide K‑3 students toward mastery of communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other foundational skills through hands‑on participation instead of lecture‑based instruction.
  • Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to maintain every child's progress toward ambitious weekly learning targets.
  • Evaluate life‑skill mastery using Alpha's Test2

    Pass framework, coaching students until they show genuine comprehension—not merely attendance.
  • Modify your coaching approach according to your cohort's developmental stage, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narrative for younger children or increased independence and responsibility for older students.
  • Establish relationships where students feel secure enough to reach beyond their perceived limitations.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering academic instruction from a whiteboard. Academic learning occurs through adaptive software platforms.
  • Creating curriculum materials from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing original lessons.
  • Observing students as they work quietly on computers. Your function centers on active coaching, encouragement, and engagement.
  • Reducing standards when students encounter difficulty. Achievement comes from supporting students to meet the goal, not adjusting the goal downward.
  • Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or conducting routine parent correspondence.
