Youll be an integral part of ensuring students have access to physical education programs tailored to their individual needs while collaborating with educators committed to inclusive education.
Qualifications:- Valid California teaching credential with Adaptive Physical Education authorization required
- Prior experience teaching APE or working with students with special needs is highly desirable
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations (itinerant schedule)
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities to manage and document progress for multiple students
- Passion for promoting physical activity and adaptive techniques
- Provide adaptive physical education instruction to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop, implement, and modify lesson plans to accommodate a range of abilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to enhance student success
- Travel to and serve multiple school sites within the district (on-site only)
- Maintain accurate records and reports regarding student progress
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute expertise to each students educational plan
- Foster an inclusive, positive environment where every student can thrive
