Position Summary

The Camp Program Coordinator supports the Camp Director in overseeing daily camp operationsandprogramming,including

Resident

Camp,Family Camp,andotheryouthand family programs. This role manages multiple program areas, supervises staff, ensures camper safety, and maintains program quality. Responsibilities include staff training, program planning, activity facilitation, and coordination of resources and logistics.

Key Responsibilities Program Leadership and  Delivery
  • Overseeanddeliverengaging,safe,andinclusivecampprogramsandactivitiessuch as archery, canoeing, ropes, hiking, and team-building.
  • Planandcoordinatecamp-wideeventsthatmeettheneedsofvariousagegroups and participants.
  • Evaluateandimproveprogramstoenhanceparticipation,accessibility,and quality. Staff Supervision and Development Superviseandmentorprogramandcampstaff,providingongoingcoachingand feedback.
  • Leadorassistinstafftrainingfocusedonleadership,camper engagement,and conflict resolution.
  • Conductregularteammeetingstoshareupdates,gather feedback,and support collaboration.
Camperand Community Support Operations and Administration
  • Overseeassignedbudgetsandensureresponsibleuseof resources.
  • Supportadministrativetasksrelatedtoscheduling,reporting,and program coordination.
  • Participateinon-callrotationsandrespondtoemergenciesfollowingestablished safety protocols.
Compliance and Safety
  • EnsureallprogramsfollowYMCA,ACAandorganizationalsafety standards.
  • Keepcertificationscurrentandensurestaffmeetrequiredtraining standards.
Qualifications
  • 2+yearsofexperienceworkingwith youth.
  • 1+yearsofexperienceworkinginaresidentcamp setting.
  • Creativityandexpertiseinareassuchasarts,culture,health,fitness,orthe outdoors.
  • Advancedproficiencyinsupervisingandmentoringyouthand staff.
  • Demonstratedabilitytoworkeffectivelywithindividualsofdiverseages,backgrounds, and experiences.
  • Strong leadership,interpersonal,and problem-solving skills,includingactivelistening, empathy, and accountability.

This role is primarily outdoors, requiring physical stamina, mobility, and the ability to lift equipment, lead activities, and assist campers as needed. Extended periods of standing, walking, and participation in physical activities are expected. Flexibility is required for long, variable hours,includingovernightshifts.

Mealsandlodgingareprovidedforthedurationof the summer camp program.
