As a Bright Bee After School Tutor you will help students master challenging concepts and build lasting confidence. By fostering a focused yet encouraging environment, they bridge the gap between classroom learning and independent mastery. Whether it’s tackling homework or preparing for exams, tutors will empower students to reach their full potential through tailored study strategies.

During your interview we will go into detail about what assignments are available at these sites.
The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is.

  • After School Enrichment Program (ASEP)
• Monday
  - Friday (2:30pm-5:30pm)
• Great consistent weekly income

If you want meaningful and impactful—this is it.

• Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts)
• Provide structured guidance on daily assignments and long-term projects, ensuring students understand the underlying principles rather than just finding the  right answer .
• Create a safe, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable taking academic risks and asking questions.
• Utilize behavior management strategies, with an emphasis in positive reinforcement
• Assist in monitoring student(s) during non-instructional times including breaks, lunch, recess and enrichments (PE, art, before/after school)
• Cooperate with necessary documentation processes, school support specialists, and other processes regarding the student(s) progress
• Make child safety the top priority at all times
• Keep the space clean and organized
• Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
• Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff

• You’re patient, reliable, and positive
• Enjoys working with children in a structured, high-energy environment
• Takes child safety seriously and follows procedures closely
• Is flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed

No experience? No problem. We’ll help you get started.

• 48 college credit hours
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting
• CPR and First Aid certification

To keep students safe
, you’ll need to:

• Pass a background check
• Follow safety and reporting guidelines
• Complete required school clearances which you are responsible for paying.
  • Costs associated with the clearance process are the sole responsibility of the candidate, as this engagement is for an independent contractor role rather than a traditional employment position. Requirements vary by state but may include the cost of a background check, obtaining a copy of any college transcript you have, and the cost of completing Mandated Reporter training. The average cost of completing clearance in California for instructional roles is between $203-$218.
