Make a meaningful difference supporting students with visual impairments in an engaging educational environment. A contract position is available for a skilled teacher of the visually impaired to provide services in a reputable district in the San Francisco area for the academic year. This role is itinerant and fully on-site, collaborating with students, families, and educational staff to deliver tailored instruction across multiple school sites.
Keyqualifications and experience:
- Valid California teaching credential with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement (required)
- Experience working as a teacher for the visually impaired in school settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs
- Proficiency in instructional strategies and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
- Flexibility and adaptability for on-site, itinerant service delivery
- Plan and deliver specialized instruction for students with visual impairments from October 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027
- Travel to assigned schools within the district to support a manageable caseload
- Conduct functional vision assessments and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Offer consultation, resources, and training to staff and families to enhance student access and inclusion
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements
