As an Instructional Designer at Patriot, you will build performance-based learning experiences that help employees apply critical skills, enable leaders to reinforce those skills, and connect development efforts to measurable business outcomes.

This role partners closely with business leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to identify performance needs and design scalable learning solutions that drive capability growth across the organization. You will create engaging learning journeys, practical tools, and measurable development experiences that strengthen readiness, adoption, and long-term success.

• Diagnose performance needs through stakeholder interviews, learner feedback, field insights, and business data to identify root causes and recommend effective development solutions.
• Design performance-based learning journeys that include readiness activities, instruction, practice, coaching, reinforcement, and performance checkpoints.
• Create high-quality learning assets, including facilitator guides, participant materials, role-play scenarios, job aids, assessments, leader tools, and communications.
• Partner with subject matter experts and business leaders to transform technical expertise into practical, learner-centered solutions.
• Develop assessment and measurement strategies that evaluate readiness, skill application, behavior adoption, and business impact.
• Support organizational readiness and change adoption through effective communications, reinforcement plans, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Contribute to scalable learning systems by maintaining templates, standards, governance processes, and resource libraries that improve quality and consistency.

• 7 to 9+ years of progressive experience in instructional design, learning experience design, talent development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success conducting needs analyses and building practical, application-focused learning solutions for diverse audiences.
• Experience designing assessments, reinforcement strategies, and evaluation approaches tied to behavior change and business performance.
• Strong stakeholder management, project management, writing, visual design, and executive communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Articulate, Canva, presentation tools, collaboration platforms, and content development technologies.
• Deep expertise working with Learning Management Systems.
• Strong AI fluency with demonstrated experience adopting and applying AI tools to improve learning design and development.
• Ability to distinguish between knowledge transfer and true performance-based learning solutions.
• Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and leading effective design and review processes.

• Portfolio showcasing performance-based learning programs, learning journeys, and instructional design work products.
• Experience supporting revenue enablement, leadership development, talent acceleration, or organizational capability-building initiatives.
• Background designing blended learning solutions that combine instructor-led, digital, practice-based, and coaching experiences.
• Experience building measurement frameworks that connect learning outcomes to operational or business performance indicators.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards, content governance practices, and scalable learning system design.
