Contract - 3-6 Months with potential extensions
$45/hr, W2
We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to support the testing, validation, and manufacturing of electro-mechanical and optical products in both R&D and production environments. This role is highly hands-on and electrically focused, with primary responsibility for PCB board testing, power-up, troubleshooting, repair, and soldering/rework to support rapid development and manufacturing readiness.
Responsibilities- Perform electrical testing, power-up, troubleshooting, and repair of PCB assemblies and electro-mechanical systems
- Execute PCB board testing
, including continuity checks, functional testing, fault isolation, and verification against schematics and test procedures - Perform soldering and rework on PCB assemblies, including component replacement, reflow, and hand soldering
- Diagnose electrical failures at the board and system level using test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
- Support bring-up and validation of new designs during R&D and NPD phases
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve electrical issues and improve test coverage
- Support cleanroom assembly and testing of precision electro-mechanical systems as needed
- Document test results, failure analysis, and corrective actions to support manufacturing readiness
- Adhere to safety, ESD, and quality standards in all test and rework activities
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical testing, manufacturing, or product development
- Strong experience with PCB board testing, troubleshooting, repair, and power-up
- Proven skills in soldering and rework on electronic assemblies
- Experience working with electro-mechanical and electronic systems in R&D and/or production environments
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools
- Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and documentation discipline
- Experience supporting both prototype builds and volume production is a plus
