RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and implement sustainable design analysis, conceptual energy modeling, sustainable consulting management, sustainable project management, proposal preparation, LEED project administration, and support compliance reporting.
- Support consulting with multiple internal design teams on LEED and sustainable project attributes.
- Assist clients, engineers, and contractors with sustainable design research and implementation.
- Support consulting with external clients on building and non-building projects, collaborating on firm-wide sustainable design and consulting projects. Projects will include LEED-NC, LEED-EBOM, LEED-CI, LEED-HC, WELL, and Fitwel. Projects may include developing sustainable design and operations guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Support implementation of office green operations plan.
- Support goal setting and benchmarking projects under HOK's AIA 2030 commitment.
- Support preparation of materials for sustainable design awards.
- Support sustainable design education programs and LEED AP credential maintenance for the San Francisco/Seattle/Salt Lake City offices.
- Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
- Mentor team members.
- Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or sustainable design required;
Master's degree preferred. - 3+ years' experience.
- LEED GA required; LEED AP with specialty highly desired.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Advanced knowledge of sustainability, building science, integrated design, and third-party certification processes.
- Proven visual and verbal presentation and communication skills for both team and client interactions.
- Experience managing teams/resources across multiple projects or facets of various projects.
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, information, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop, Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, Grasshopper, and/or related software.
- Experience with energy and environmental performance analysis, including conceptual energy modeling, environmental analysis, daylight analysis, renewable energy systems, life cycle assessment, and feasibility analysis.
- Proficiency with performance analysis software such as Climate Studio, Ladybug/Pollination, Radiance, Therm, and CFD.
- Proficiency with energy analysis software like Energy Plus and IES is preferred.
- Proficiency with embodied carbon analysis software such as One Click LCA and Tally is preferred.
OTHER:
- Overtime may be required.
- Travel may be required.
