Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technician, Automation Engineering, Robotics
Create Me is an AI robotics company pioneering automated manufacturing for soft materials, starting with apparel. Built on the belief that the Future of Fashion is Bonded™, the company has developed a unified platform that combines advanced robotics, proprietary adhesive bonding, and Physical AI to deliver a new standard of precision, consistency, and speed.
By replacing stitch-based construction with digitally applied adhesives and automated material handling, the platform enables localized, on-demand production that reduces waste, shortens supply chains, and improves recyclability by design. Core technologies include Pixel™ micro adhesive bonding, the MeRA™ robotic assembly system, and Thermo(re) set™ reversible adhesive science, advancements that make scalable, automated production possible within compact, localized facilities.
Create Me partners with brands and manufacturers seeking to modernize how products are made. With more than 95 patents across robotics, adhesives, and Physical AI, the company is defining the infrastructure for bonded manufacturing globally.
Role Overview
Create Me is seeking an Engineering Technician with strong electrical and wiring expertise to support the development, integration, and continuous improvement of our next-generation automated apparel assembly systems. You will work hands-on with prototype machinery, electro-mechanical subsystems, control panels, sensors, motion components, and custom tooling—helping the engineering team diagnose issues, optimize designs, and push our automation platform toward commercialization.
This is a critical, lab-floor technical role for someone who loves wiring, debugging, building, documenting, and making complex systems behave. You will contribute directly to turning R&D concepts into reliable, scalable automated manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
Electrical & Controls (Primary Focus)
- Assemble, wire, route, and terminate electrical panels, prototype control boxes, junctions, and harnesses following engineering schematics.
- Test, validate, and document electrical subsystem performance, including suggested wiring or hardware improvements.
- Support electrical safety, labeling, organization, and preventive maintenance of prototype automation systems.
Prototype System Operation & Debug
- Operate prototype automation equipment, log system behavior, and identify repeatable bugs, gaps, or failure modes.
- Collect, organize, and present experiment data—photos, wiring notes, test logs, parameter sets, timing data—for engineering debug and root-cause analysis.
- Assist in system bring-up for new prototypes, including alignment, calibration, and integration of updated components.
Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, and General Lab Support
- Perform routine maintenance on R&D equipment; maintain logs; identify needed spare parts; track inventory.
- Create or update SOPs, maintenance instructions, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Assist with technician-level mechanical build tasks (mounting hardware, panel layout, fasteners, brackets, cable routing).
- Support quality, safety, and lab operations standards at all times.
Required Qualifications
- AS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
- Strong wiring experience: control panels, low-voltage systems, sensors, motor drivers, power distribution, cable management.
- Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems, including reading schematics, interpreting electrical drawings, and using diagnostic tools (DMMs, continuity testers, oscilloscopes—basic level).
- Hands-on experience operating, maintaining, or repairing automated or semi-automated machinery.
- Ability to run experiments, follow test procedures, capture accurate data, and communicate findings clearly.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced R&D environment; able to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, climb/stoop/push/pull, perform repetitive tasks, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSEET, BSMET, or similar.
