Position SummaryIntegrity Inspections LLC is seeking a California‑licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to support our Special Inspection Division through plan/spec review, technical evaluation of inspection results, and quality review of reports prepared from field data collected by our technicians. This is a part‑time, primarily remote role supporting projects throughout the Northern California, with occasional site/office visits as needed.
This position is focused on technical review, clarity, and documentation quality—helping ensure inspection reporting is complete, consistent, and aligned with project requirements and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform plan and specification review to identify inspection scope, acceptance criteria, and reporting requirements when needed.
- Review technician‑provided documentation (field notes, photos, test results) for completeness, technical accuracy, and consistency.
- Provide technical evaluation of inspection results and support preparation/review of:
- Special inspection reports and summaries
- Observation logs and documentation packages
- Nonconformance items and corrective action follow‑up documentation (as applicable)
- Coordinate with internal staff to clarify scope questions, resolve documentation gaps, and support timely report issuance.
- Communicate professionally with project stakeholders (contractors, owners’ reps, EORs, architects, and AHJs) regarding documentation needs, report clarifications, and closeout items.
- Support internal documentation standards and QA/QC, including templates, checklists, and report formatting improvements.
Required
- Active California PE license in a relevant discipline.
- Working familiarity with Special Inspection programs and typical construction documentation workflows (scope identification, reporting, closeout support).
- Strong ability to produce and/or review clear, defensible technical documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
- Ability to support projects in the SF Bay Area / Northern California, including occasional site visits when necessary.
Preferred
- Experience with structural steel, welding/bolting inspection documentation, concrete, masonry, or related special inspection disciplines.
- Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT) and how NDT results are documented and interpreted in the field.
- Experience coordinating with building departments/AHJs on documentation expectations and project closeout.
