Project Scheduler Responsibilities
The Project Scheduler is responsible for managing scheduling activities across assigned projects. This role ensures that all schedules are accurate, fully integrated, and compliant with both contractual requirements and company standards, supporting timely and efficient project delivery.
Essential Skills- Proactive in communicating bottlenecks and potential risks to project teams.
- Balances input from multiple stakeholders while maintaining logic integrity.
- Communicates schedule status and analysis findings clearly to the project team and supports corrective decision-making.
- Identifies recurring inefficiencies in reporting, updates, or coordination.
- Applies an understanding of construction methods, trade sequencing, and project delivery approaches to improve schedule realism.
- Regularly reviews logic ties, durations, and calendars for accuracy.
- Demonstrates commitment to maintaining a high‑quality schedule as a reliable management tool.
- Customizes reporting structures to meet different clients and stakeholder priorities.
- Works with the project team to update and re‑sequence activities as directed to support mitigation plans and safety risks.
- Prepares clear, concise schedule documentation—including milestone charts, phase maps, and summary logic diagrams—to help project teams understand sequence and critical path.
- Develops complete, logic‑driven project schedules that reflect the planned sequence of work.
- Trains others in applying improved scheduling practices and digital workflows.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of Clune's project scheduling software, including schedule creation and development.
- Properly identifies critical and near‑critical activities, slippage trends, and potential risks.
- Engages effectively with project management, field teams, and trade partners to confirm sequencing and durations.
- Communicates effectively with diverse stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
- Suggests practical adjustments to improve workflow or clarity of outputs.
- Is familiar with local relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Keeps current with company and client scheduling standards.
- Maintains strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and field operations.
- Displays problem‑solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
- Applies judgment to ensure schedules are complete, logical, and reflective of project execution.
- Produces layouts and filters for reporting using software configuration and customization.
- Applies analytical thinking to evaluate schedule delays and potential recovery options.
- Tailors visual materials to the intended audience.
- Communicates effectively to ensure alignment with field operations.
- Actively contributes to peer learning by sharing process improvements and lessons learned.
- Actively participates in emerging software trials and training sessions.
This role may have supervisory responsibilities over Assistant Project Schedulers.

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering is preferred, but strong work experience will be considered. Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience with 2-3 years scheduling experience. Solid background in construction trades and technical knowledge. Proficiency with scheduling software including P6, Microsoft Project, and/or Phoenix PM. Exposure to BIM/VDC teams on 4D and 5D schedules is a plus.
Work Environment and Physical DemandsRegular workdays and hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30AM – 4:30PM. The position requires standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, talking or hearing, climbing stairs or ladders, and walking on uneven ground. Occasional regional travel may be required.
