Key Responsibilities
- Project Development, Project Management and Entitlements:
Manage local approval processes including entitlement packages and CEQA approvals (where applicable), air permitting and knowledge of building permit packages; develop contingency plans for permitting delays, interconnection risks, and supply chain disruptions. - Utility Coordination and Energy Strategy:
Manage front‑end engineering and consulting resources to complete utility service applications, interconnection applications and deliverables with the utility; oversee intake, study, and preliminary design phases of the utility upgrades when required; understand multiple generation technologies and ancillary systems at MW scale. - Engineering & Design Management:
Lead engineering resources to complete initial design basis memoranda and mature them into Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) packages; implement design standards and instill cost leadership within engineering teams. - Procurement & Scheduling:
Coordinate supplier relationships, manage scope development, track deliverables against cost and schedule milestones, and incorporate lifecycle cost considerations into design standards. - Program Oversight:
Build consensus, define risks, analyze cost structures, facilitate value engineering, hand off post‑FEED packages to the Prologis execution team, support go/no‑go investment decisions through technical diligence, risk analysis, and ROI modeling. - Data Quality & Standardization:
Drive data quality and standardization of portfolio dashboard metrics from the top down.
- Technical comfort with Energy Systems and experience with front‑of‑the‑meter and behind‑the‑meter projects.
- Direct experience with primary and backup BTM for C & I / mission critical applications.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging energy technologies such as hydrogen, microgrids, hybrid systems into program roadmaps.
- Solid engineering foundation with ability to review and challenge system design, OEM selection, and BOP expertise.
- Proficiency in evaluating generation technologies using LCOE, reliability and lifecycle analysis.
- Highly proficient in standard project management tools in budgeting, scheduling.
- Adaptable to managing change, providing clear direction during transition.
- Collaborative mindset to stay abreast of the technology catalog, share lessons learned, and optimize resources.
- Customer‑centric developer mindset with deep understanding of the Energy, Water and Carbon nexus.
- Comfort making decisions in highly ambiguous environments; strong organizational and communication skills; leadership ability in a high‑performance culture.
- 10+ years of capital projects development experience in the power industry at mission‑critical industrial or utility scales.
- Experience with technologies including Energy Storage, Power Generation, Hydrogen Systems, Islanded Power Generation (microgrids), Combined Heat & Power.
- BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with major project budget management and cost coding.
- High comfort with Excel and budget reporting software; experience with project planning tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet or equivalent.
- Willingness to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
- Maintain a steady pace of projects matured from concept to FEED package completion.
- Keep projects on schedule and on budget through the Front‑End Development phase.
- Develop deep relationships internally and with critical design and utility partners to drive deliverables based on mutual goals.
Hiring Salary Range: $157,000 – $216,000 (full‑time). Bonus target applies.
