Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer / Soil Reports Specialist to support geotechnical investigations and prepare high-quality soil and foundation reports for projects across the San Francisco Bay Area. This role involves both fieldwork and report preparation, with strong attention to detail and adherence to California building codes and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and oversee geotechnical field investigations, including soil borings and site evaluations
  • Analyze subsurface conditions such as soil, rock, and groundwater
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical soil reports with recommendations for foundations, earthwork, pavements, and retaining structures
  • Review laboratory test data and integrate findings into reports
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities
  • Ensure compliance with California and local building codes and industry standards
  • Provide technical support during construction phases
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • 3-8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Strong experience preparing geotechnical and soil investigation reports
  • Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, and California building standards
  • Excellent written communication skills (report-heavy role)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Experience with Bay Area soil conditions and seismic considerations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
