Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience testing, diagnosing, or supporting complex systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills at the system level
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
  • Experience reading and following detailed mechanical and electrical documentation
  • Comfortable using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for assembly and testing
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and replace components up to 50 lbs
  • (Desirable) Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA or similar platforms
  • (Desirable) Programming experience in Python, Java, and/or C++
  • (Desirable) Familiarity with automated test systems and DAQ hardware
  • (Desirable) Hands‑on experience with robotics systems or electromechanical integration
  • (Desirable) Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑620, or J‑STD‑001 standards
  • (Desirable) Experience working with brushless motors, harmonic drives, clutches, or torque/force sensors
What the job involves
  • The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.
  • We are looking for a diligent and detail‑oriented Engineering Technician to join our team. This person will focus on testing complex subsystems in our humanoid robot.
  • Perform subsystem and system‑level testing to verify functionality, performance, and reliability against specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and integration issues identified during testing.
  • Develop, document, and execute test procedures and validation plans.
  • Build and maintain automated test processes to improve efficiency and repeatability.
  • Integrate test automation, data collection, and reporting tools into existing workflows.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across testing processes and product quality.
  • Document results and track issues using JIRA and Google Workspace tools.
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
