Sensing HW Design Electrical Engineer

Apple’s Data Collection System team develops prototype hardware systems essential for future product features. We seek a skilled Electrical Engineer to design high‑performance hardware supporting Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Photography applications, breaking new ground in technology and user experience.

As a Hardware Design Engineer you will collaborate cross‑functionally with hardware and software teams to define prototype hardware that evaluates new technologies and features. You will lead deliverables to align with project goals while ensuring thorough and precise documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

• Propose, negotiate, and design EE solutions to achieve functional and performance objectives
• Design and schematic capture of digital and some analog electrical circuits and systems
• Lead and review PCB layout
• Build proof‑of‑concept and initial prototype hardware
• Create and execute plans to bring‑up and validate designs for function and performance
• Debug and support prototype designs
• Manage Contract Manufacturer interactions and support CM test during system builds

• Electronics experience in processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high‑speed serial interfaces, and power supply design)
• Strong working knowledge of signal and power integrity and protocols for PCB layout and construction
• Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
• BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

• Experience with SOCs, microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGAs, camera electrical protocols (MIPI, LVDS, SDI, DP, HDMI) and sensors or transducers
• Taking designs from concept through manufacturing and test, performing mechanical assembly for quick prototypes, and bringing up, debugging, and validating digital designs

Base pay range for this role: $181,100 – $318,400, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
