Job Description & How to Apply Below
Senior Process Engineer – responsible for delivering high-quality process engineering on FEL‑2 and early-phase power and gas‑to‑power projects, ensuring coherence between automated outputs and engineering deliverables, and helping shape product to automate repetitive work.
Responsibilities- Do real process engineering on our FEL‑2 and early-phase delivery work, owning the parts our software can’t handle yet so projects ship
- Be the quality gate on Candid's automated outputs: catch what’s wrong before it reaches a client, and feed it back so the product gets sharper
- Define how preconstruction process work actually gets done on power and gas‑to‑power projects, and what “good” looks like
- Review and validate process deliverables across early-phase packages: heat balances, fuel gas systems, balance of plant, utilities
- Build repeatable checks that catch inconsistencies across key documents and handoffs
- Map where rework happens, why it happens, and what inputs drive it
- Clarify interface points with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation
- Separate the steps that are genuinely repetitive from the ones that need real engineering judgment
You’ll help define the checks, workflows, and product requirements that let software take on the repetitive parts, with engineers in control.
Qualifications- 7+ years at a large-scale EPC, PMC, or owner‑operator, with most of it on power generation or gas‑to‑power
- Direct experience on combined cycle, simple cycle, gas‑to‑power, LNG, or cogeneration projects (not refining or petrochem only)
- Personally owned PFD and P&t through FEED
- Strong on fuel gas systems, balance of plant, and utility systems
- Hands‑on with process simulation:
Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Thermoflow / GT PRO, Gate Cycle, or similar - Solid fundamentals in relief, hydraulics, and equipment sizing
- Working knowledge of API, ASME, NFPA, ISA, and relevant power codes
- Spot inconsistencies across P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor packages fast
- Clear understanding of cross-discipline dependencies
- Want out of big‑firm process and ready to take on multiple hats
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a bias to action over waiting for perfection
- Discipline lead or technical authority experience
- Work on data center or behind‑the‑meter power campuses
- Flare system modeling and relief calculation packages
- Real interest in AI and automation
- Meaningful base + equity
- Unlimited PTO
- Health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision
- Up to $150/mo health and wellness reimbursement (gym, fitness classes, and similar)
Compensation Range: $100K - $250K
