Mechanical Engineer, Data Center Engineering & Design

Fluidstack is committed to building high‑density AI compute infrastructure for the future. We seek a mechanical design specialist to lead the design of cooling and mechanical systems for gigawatt‑scale data centers.

• Own mechanical systems end to end for AI‑optimized, high‑density data centers from early concept and analytical modeling through final build and deployment.
• Lead the design and evolution of mechanical and cooling systems as Fluidstack scales to multiple gigawatts.
• Develop and maintain modular mechanical templates that enable rapid, repeatable global deployment.
• Serve as the technical interface between internal teams and external consultants, keeping designs aligned with Fluidstack's high‑density cooling and power requirements.
• Build supply‑chain‑aware solutions so designs integrate cleanly and deploy fast.

• Proven experience owning mechanical design for data centers or high‑density facilities, from concept and modeling through build.
• Design cooling systems for AI‑class density (chilled water, CDUs, direct liquid cooling) and think in modular, repeatable templates.
• Experience managing external consultants and acting as the technical bridge to internal strategy.
• Design with supply chain and constructability in mind.
• Desire for full ownership of the mechanical lifecycle at gigawatt scale.
• Bonus: PE license, direct‑to‑chip or liquid cooling design, modular or prefab template programs, CFD expertise, ASHRAE TC 9.9 knowledge.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.
