About the Team
Droyd builds autonomous robotic systems that automate repetitive manual work in real environments. We design and manufacture our hardware in-house, which means iteration, fabrication, and execution all happen under one roof.
Our robots rely on tightly integrated electronics for sensing, communication, and control. Our electrical engineering work spans board design, cameras, data systems, and the low-voltage infrastructure that supports the robot as a whole — highly cross‑functional work, closely tied to mechanical and software development.
About the RoleAs an Electrical Engineer at Droyd, you will focus on low‑voltage electrical systems and PCB design for our robotic platforms. You will work on custom boards and supporting electronics for sensing, data, and system integration.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical board‑level design and wants to see their work integrated quickly into real hardware.
This role is based on‑site in San Francisco, CA.
In This Role, You'll Board & System DesignDesign PCBs and low‑voltage electrical systems for robotic hardware
Support camera, sensor, and data‑related electrical integration
Help define practical electrical architecture for new hardware
Prototype, test, debug, and iterate on board designs quickly
Contribute to bring‑up, validation, and reliability improvements for electrical subsystems
Work closely with mechanical and software teams to ensure clean system integration
Communicate design decisions, trade‑offs, and test results clearly
On‑site in San Francisco, CA
Full‑time
Compensation: $140K–$195K base salary, plus equity
We're Looking For Candidates WhoHave experience designing and shipping PCB‑based systems
Have strong fundamentals in low‑voltage electrical engineering
Are comfortable debugging and validating hardware in the lab
Work well across mechanical, software, and robotics teams
Can move quickly in a prototyping‑heavy startup environment
Experience with robotics or embedded systems
Experience with camera and sensor integration
Experience with high‑speed data or communications interfaces
Droyd builds autonomous robotic systems that operate in real production environments. We design the hardware, develop the control stack, and generate the data that enables generalist robotics.
If we do this right, robots stop being demos and start being infrastructure.
Join us and help build the systems that make it real.
