Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager

ResponsibilitiesAs a Substation Project Manager, you will manage projects of all sizes and complexities, working closely with design teams to execute and deliver client solutions.
- Manage and lead projects and programs throughout the entire life cycle.
- Work independently and/or mentor and supervise Project Engineers, EITs, Coordinators, Designers, CADD technicians, and administrative staff.
- Oversee team workload, schedule, quality, utilization, morale, and performance.
- When applicable, oversee non‑engineering project components such as public engagement, agency permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, and construction management.
- Lead the QA/QC process per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
- Support client management and engage in broader business development activities with existing and target clients.
- Coordinate with Area and Regional leadership and HDR’s Talent Acquisition team to develop a hiring plan.
- Work share with staff in multiple offices to execute projects.
- Represent HDR to support marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- FE, PE license preferred; PMP in lieu of PE.
- Experience or exposure to system projections, planning, communication, distribution, and transmission lines, as well as public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition is an added benefit.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills; ability to interact with various design teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 7 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.

Phoenix, Arizona (primary location). Projects may also be based in multiple U.S. locations such as Austin, Denver, Seattle, and others.

Compensation and BenefitsThe targeted salary range is $105,403 – $190,200, depending on location, experience, and education. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, short‑ and long‑term disability, life insurance, employee assistance program, paid time off, parental leave, paid holidays, a retirement savings plan with employer match, employee referral bonus, and tuition reimbursement.
