Critchfield Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team. This role combines strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering with leadership, organization, and communication skills to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while meeting all design specifications and client expectations. This position is located in our headquarters in San Jose, CA with travel to SF Bay Area jobsites.
Key Responsibilities- Manage design/build, plan/spec, and design assist project from bid to completion
- Perform HVAC heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, duct and pipe sizing
- Effectively manage time to meet project deliverables and schedules
- Work closely with engineers, project architects, general contractors, owners, consultants, and other MEP team members from project start to completion
- Provide supervision and technical support to Jr level engineers
- Interact and communicate with field personnel to resolve field issues and ensure the installation meets the project schedule/cost estimates
- Compile project submittals from appropriate vendors, ensuring correct pricing, delivery dates, and other specifications are met Buyout and procurement of equipment and finishes
- Oversee all project financials
- Develop client base and build strong relationships for future sales leads
- Negotiate and manage subcontractors
- Manage the project closeout process
- 5-8 years of experience in commercial and industrial mechanical contracting specifically with experience in project management, estimating, and design
- Bachelors Degree in related field - Mechanical Engineering preferred
- EIT or PE license preferred but not required
- Experience with LEED or LEED accreditation
- Advanced knowledge of engineering fundamentals, local building and mechanical codes and Title 24
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
