Senior Project Manager - Vessel Electrification
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our ambitious vessel electrification projects, aimed at converting our fleet of commercial vessels to eco-friendly electric power. Based in the vibrant city of San Francisco, this role involves overseeing the transition of various types of commercial vessels from traditional fuel systems to advanced electric propulsion technologies. This position is ideal for a visionary leader who is passionate about sustainable maritime solutions and has a strong background in marine vessel project management.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership:
Direct and manage the entire lifecycle of vessel electrification projects, from initial concept through design, development, testing, and implementation. - Team Coordination:
Lead multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, and external contractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders including senior management, project teams, regulatory bodies, and vendors. Present reports and project updates at regular intervals. - Technical Oversight:
Provide technical oversight and direction in the integration of electric propulsion systems, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and environmental standards. - Risk Management:
Identify project risks and dependencies, developing effective mitigation strategies to overcome obstacles and ensure project success. - Innovation and Research:
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in electric vessel technologies and maritime environmental practices, integrating innovative solutions into project plans. - Budget Management:
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring the efficient use of resources and financial accountability.
- Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in marine vessel project management, with a strong preference for candidates who have led vessel electrification or similar projects. - Skills:
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management skills, certified in PMI or equivalent preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of marine vessel systems, especially electric propulsion and related technologies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Experience in managing large-scale budgets and resources.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
