Senior Estimator – Rosendin Electric

Rosendin Electric is the largest employee‑owned electrical contractor in the United States, employing over 7,000 people. We are seeking a Senior Estimator to prepare bid and submittal documents, lead estimation projects, and collaborate with suppliers and customers to deliver competitive proposals.

• Prepare estimates from quantity take‑off and produce computer printouts.
• Identify key project elements to develop competitive bids.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre‑bid meetings to determine scope.
• Assess potential value‑engineering savings and evaluate cost impact.
• Lead personnel preparing discipline sub‑estimates for assigned bids.
• Maintain working documents and data that support estimate figures.
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical data.
• Create detailed listings of material and equipment for quotes.
• Select qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes.
• Review quotes for completeness and conformity with plans and specs.
• Ensure timely completion of all client‑required documents.
• Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.
• Review scope, technical requirements, and pricing with the Chief Estimator before formal bid package issuance.
• Meet with Project Management after a successful bid to explain scope, attention areas, and project transition.
• Update Rosendin approved estimating program and maintain backup files.

• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering design drawings.
• Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating.
• Estimate all types of projects and coordinate/supervise group work.
• Mentor and assist junior estimators.
• Meet customer needs, expectations, and requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office ‑ Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
• Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and effective team player.
• Interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of estimating or relevant construction experience.
• Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam preferred.
• Experience with CAD or 3D software preferred.
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience acceptable.

• Up to 10% travel.
• Primarily indoor work with occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Work involves sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending, and exposure to varying lighting and noise levels.
