An innovative aerospace company developing next-generation high-altitude platform systems (HAPS) is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to join its Mission Operations team.
This organisation is building cutting-edge stratospheric platforms designed for communications, remote sensing, Earth observation, environmental monitoring, and defense-related applications.
Their technology operates at the edge of aerospace and advanced flight systems engineering, supporting both commercial and government customers.
This is an opportunity to work on highly complex airborne systems in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with significant exposure to flight operations, testing, systems integration, and mission execution.
The RoleYou will support the planning, coordination, execution, and analysis of integrated ground and flight test campaigns for advanced aerospace vehicles. The position requires close collaboration with vehicle, avionics, systems, and operations teams to ensure safe and successful mission execution.
Responsibilities Test Planning & Execution- Develop and execute ground and flight test plans, procedures, and test cards
- Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and safety assessments
- Execute system-level testing across avionics, mechanical, electrical, and integrated vehicle systems
- Support real-time flight operations and operational decision-making during test campaigns
- Assist with mission planning and operational readiness activities
- Support telemetry monitoring and real-time test execution
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight briefings and reporting
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams during missions
- Analyze flight and ground test data
- Generate technical reports, post-test summaries, and compliance documentation
- Support troubleshooting and identification of hardware/software/system issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of aerospace ground and/or flight test experience
- Experience planning and executing integrated test campaigns
- Strong understanding of flight test processes and documentation
- Experience with test procedures, reporting, and data analysis
- Familiarity with hazard/risk assessments and safety processes
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Experience with UAV/UAS, HAPS, or advanced aerospace vehicles
- Telemetry or mission control experience
- Systems engineering and requirements verification exposure
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other scripting/data analysis tools
- Background supporting TRRs or formal flight readiness reviews
