Job SummaryTYLin's Buildings team brings creativity and technical excellence to new and existing buildings around the world. Our primary services, structural engineering for buildings, include new construction projects, as well as renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. Within that broad range, we offer further expertise in specific services including architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support services. We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with 8-15 years of structural engineering experience related to buildings (commercial, residential, institutional) to support our operations in San Francisco.
The incumbent candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly collaborative and creative team on a diverse portfolio of projects.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
- Assisting in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
- Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions.
- Project management of staff and clients on large and/or complex projects.
- Support studio leaders in managing staff and financials.
- Providing mentoring and guidance to junior staff.
- Maintaining involvement in professional organizations to keep abreast of new industry developments.
Qualifications (including education and/or job experience):
- Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
- Master's degree would be considered an asset.
- P.E. license required; S.E. license would be considered an asset.
- 8-15 years of experience in the execution of residential, commercial, or institutional buildings projects as a structural engineer is required.
- Experience in historic buildings preservation would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g. RISA, SAP, RAM).
- Working knowledge of Revit.
