Overview
Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Commissioning Authority to join our Data Center Commissioning Team. This role provides hands-on experience with Data Center projects and exposure across all project types.
Position SummaryCommissioning is a quality assurance process to ensure that systems and components are installed and operate as intended. The role involves work both in the office and in the field with hands-on testing to improve building performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and occupant comfort.
The Glumac Commissioning Team is a dedicated group focused on high-quality commissioning services. We have over 30 full-time commissioning staff on world-class projects, including LEED Cx, Title 24 Cx, retro-commissioning, energy studies, and measurement and verification. We work with clients from design through move-in and beyond, coordinating owners, design teams, contractors, and building operators to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects.
- Conduct field functional testing and create pre-functional and functional checklists.
- Lead commissioning meetings and maintain issue logs and commissioning reports.
- Perform field observations and document test results; ensure safe work practices.
- Assist with project management duties as needed and ensure alignment with internal procedures and industry standards.
- Maintain continuous professional development and stay current with discipline knowledge.
- Contribute to safety by reporting health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 8+ years of related industry experience and 2+ years in datacenter commissioning, operations, or construction.
- ANSI/ISO Accreditation Cx Certification (BCxA CCP, ACG CxA, ASHRAE BCxP).
- Strong technical knowledge of datacenter MEP system design, operation, controls, and instrumentation.
- Project management experience, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills; ability to work autonomously and in teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Safety-first mindset; ability to climb ladders/stairs and lift/carry loads above 20 lbs.
- Ability to be on a job site for extended periods (8-10 hours) and travel approximately 50%.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Professional licensure (PE, Energy Management, or TAB certifications) is a plus.
- Experience managing QA/QC processes and electrical systems commissioning.
- Experience with commissioning software or ongoing commissioning tools.
This position requires regular travel to data center project sites, with 50-70% travel expected. Our hybrid work environment requires two in-office and/or on-site days per week. All candidates must be located in and eligible to work in the U.S.
CompensationSalary Range: $110,000 - $180,000 (depending on experience). The base salary range represents the low and high end of the compensation scale for this role. Actual salaries will be determined based on location, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications. This salary range is one component of Glumac’s total compensation package, which includes benefits and professional development opportunities.
