We’ve partnered with a premier, privately held electrical contractor that thrives on delivering massive, complex design-build projects. They are seeking a licensed Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to step into a high-impact technical leadership role in San Francisco. Supporting critical infrastructure and expansion efforts, this position is designed for an expert who commands a strong ownership mentality and loves driving landmark projects from initial concept through to final execution.
This isn't a back-office design role. This is a seat where your technical expertise as a Professional Engineer (PE) is highly respected, where you will actively shape multi-million-dollar infrastructure, and where you’ll play a direct role in mentoring the next generation of engineers and designers.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead & Mentor: Champion the growth of your team, providing direct technical guidance and mentorship to a talented group of 5–8 engineers, designers, and modeling staff.
- Act as Engineer of Record: Take full technical ownership of assigned design-build projects, resolving complex design challenges, ensuring strict NEC compliance, and signing off on critical milestones.
- Drive Project Lifecycle: Develop project requirements, prepare design fees, and establish robust work plans for engineering and production resources from concept to completion.
- Collaborate & Coordinate: Partner directly with Project Managers, executives, design-build teams, and city/state/county officials to align on deliverables, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Oversee Technical Studies: Direct and review complex Electrical System Studies, including Short Circuit, Arc Flash, and Voltage Drop analyses.
- Field Engagement: Attend crucial design coordination meetings and perform regular job site visits to bridge the gap between design and physical construction.
- The Credentials: A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- The
Experience:
8+ years of electrical engineering experience, with a solid footprint established within an electrical design-build environment. - The Portfolio: Proven experience leading large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
- The Leadership Style: Exceptional mentoring skills. We are entirely open to a brilliant Senior Engineer who has informally coached and mentored junior staff and is ready to step into a formalized leadership structure.
- Technical Depth: Mastery of load calculations, equipment layout, HV/MV/LV distribution, lighting design, grounding, and utility coordination. High proficiency in Revit is a must;
AutoCAD and SKM Power Tools are a strong plus.
- Unmatched Wealth Building: Because the company is private and employee‑owned, you will participate in a lucrative ESOP program that contributes approximately 18% of your base salary back to you in ownership benefits, completely separate from your performance bonus.
- True End-to-End Ownership: You’ll have the autonomy to see massive, career-defining projects through from the first sketch to the final handshake.
- Generous Benefits: Generous starting base salary up to $210K, sign‑on/relocation support to get you to the Bay Area, and 17 PTO days out of the gate.
