Overview
LVI Associates is partnering with a nationally recognized structural engineering consulting firm in the search for a Senior BIM Specialist to join its Oakland office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BIM professional who is passionate about structures, technology, and construction, and who thrives in a collaborative environment focused on innovation and technical excellence.
Our client is known for delivering complex structural engineering projects across healthcare, education, civic, science & technology, and industrial sectors. They are seeking a BIM leader who can drive project delivery, mentor team members, and help advance digital design workflows across the organization.
Position OverviewThe Senior BIM Specialist will play a critical role in the planning, execution, and delivery of BIM projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to project standards. This individual will lead modeling efforts on complex projects, support multidisciplinary coordination, and champion the development of BIM standards and workflows.
The ideal candidate brings extensive Revit experience, strong knowledge of structural construction documentation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- BIM Project Delivery
- Develop, manage, and coordinate advanced 3D Revit models for structural engineering projects.
- Produce and oversee construction documentation from design development through construction administration.
- Support projects ranging from renovations of existing structures to large-scale new construction developments.
- Ensure BIM deliverables meet project schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Coordination & Quality Assurance
- Maintain organized BIM project environments and file structures.
- Participate in project planning and BIM coordination efforts across disciplines.
- Review models and drafting work regularly to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, architects, and consultants to resolve modeling and coordination challenges.
- Attend regular project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and solutions.
- Technical Leadership
- Serve as a technical resource for Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM technologies.
- Mentor junior BIM staff and support professional development initiatives.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of BIM standards, templates, and best practices.
- Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of emerging BIM tools and workflows.
- Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency through automation and workflow enhancements.
- Utilize advanced BIM technologies to streamline production and coordination processes.
- Participate in technical conferences, internal training, and industry best-practice initiatives.
- Required Experience
- 6+ years of experience using Autodesk Revit and related BIM software within structural engineering, architecture, or construction environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction document production from project initiation through completion.
- Experience leading BIM efforts on large-scale and technically complex projects.
- Strong understanding of building structures and construction methodologies.

- Associate's Degree preferred.
- Autodesk Revit Structure Certified Professional credential preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
